Hadith 7 - Charity / Good deeds / Merciful to others

Subject: Spend, and I shall spend on you

Narrated by Abu Huraira (Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam), said, "Allah said, 'O son of Adam! Spend, and I shall spend on you.' "

Subject: One who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid

Narrated by Abu Huraira (Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam), said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day."

Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said "The one who looks after and works for a widow and for a poor person, is like a warrior fighting for Allah's Cause or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all the night."

Subject: Give food to the hungry

Narrated by Abu Musa Al Ashari(Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, "Give food to the hungry, pay a visit to the sick and release (set free) the one in captivity (by paying his ransom)."

Subject: The example of good pious companion

Narrated by Abu Musa(Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam), said, "The example of a good pious companion and an evil one is that of a person carrying musk and another blowing a pair of bellows. The one who is carrying musk will either give you some perfume as a present, or you will buy some from him, or you will get a good smell from him, but the one who is blowing a pair of bellows will either burn your clothes or you will get a bad smell from him."

Subject: Good Manners - The one entitled to the best companionship

Narrated by 'Abu Huraira(Radhiallaho anho):
A man came to Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your father."

Subject: Being merciful towards people and animals

Narrated by An Numan bin Bashir(Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said "You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it."

Subject: Every good deed is considered as a Sadaqa

Narrated by Abu Musa Al Ashari(Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam), said, "On every Muslim there is enjoined (a compulsory) Sadaqa (alms)." They (the people) said, "If one has nothing?" He said, "He should work with his hands so that he may benefit himself and give in charity." They said, "If he cannot work or does not work?" He said, "Then he should help the oppressed unhappy person (by word or action or both)." They said, "If he does not do it?" He said, "Then he should enjoin what is good (or said what is reasonable)." They said, "If he does not do that?" He said, "Then he should refrain from doing evil, for that will be considered for Him as a Sadaqa (charity)."
